The cord of a light is often a neglected part, or at least a part that is the least designed when it comes to lighting. Therefor I wanted to start with the cord and look at the way it is made. From the rope making technique the outer yarns are woven around the electrical cable, the shape then evolves from a cable host into a lampshade by forming a cone shape. The potential of the rope is then further explored by using a loose knot to position the shade with, an intuitive way of positioning the light.
